The kitchen has been the “meeting” place for so many years. It holds family get togethers, birthdays, wine and cheese parties, BBQ’s and a whole lot of “chats”.
The kitchen being the central hub of the home needs to be streamline, efficient and organized.
Here are our top 5 tips to an organized kitchen:
Your counter top is “PRIME REAL ESTATE”...If you aren’t touching an item daily or at the very least every other day it should find another home! Clearing the clutter and small appliances off your counters will make you feel like you’ve doubled your space.
Keep on top of your pantry. If no one is eating it – get rid of it! Circulate the products and aim to use it before you replenish.
Big dishes and serving platters can be kept in the basement or storage closet. These items are large and often take up some much needed space. Considering that they are usually only used twice or maybe three times a year “out of the kitchen” storage is acceptable.
Stop doing laps around your kitchen when unloading the dishwasher. We normally suggest to clients, plates and soup bowls go directly above the dishwasher and glasses would be found next to the refrigerator.
Usually there is a dumping ground somewhere in the kitchen. Address it..figure out why everyone drops their stuff there. Is it paperwork, bills and school newsletters? Then this can be easily address with a RAFT system, Check out our video.
