Furniture Stores London

You might have splurged lately on some new furniture stores for your home. But you might be left wondering what the best options are for your old furniture. Some individuals might turn to leaving their old furniture for the landfill, but there are a lot more sustainable options out there. Today we will look at different ways that you can upcycle, repurpose or refresh your old furniture as you bring in your newer pieces.

Upcycle

If you are on the creative side, there are many different inventive ways that your inner DIYer can upgrade your old furniture into something new that you love. The options are endless, however here are some of our favorites:

  • Old desks can be sawed down, repainted, and turned into other pieces like nightstands;

  • Old wooden frames can be turned into trendy chalk message boards to help complement other wall art pieces;

  • Unwanted dressers with drawers removed can be painted and turned into a stylish bar.

Repurpose

You might have some furniture that has some sentimental value that is stopping you from completely getting rid of them. In this case, you always have the option of repurposing them.

  • Repurposing your furniture is slightly different from upcycling, since it does not necessarily mean upgrading your old piece into something new or better, but reusing it in a different way;

  • An unwanted bicycle can be included in a unique countertop;

  • Doors can even be repurposed, attaching a floor mirror to a vintage door can give you a great new piece.

Refresh

If you want to switch things up but aren’t ready to completely get rid of your old furniture, then you might want to think about refreshing your furniture with some more upscale decor.

  • Consider getting a stylish accent chair to add to your living room

  • Or, add some interesting wall art to your bedroom;

  • Try giving your dining table a new look and feel by getting a fresh set of dining chairs.

It is always the best feeling to be able to get new furniture and upgrade the decor of your home. However, you shouldn’t be so quick to throw out your old furniture. Depending on the items you have, there are a lot of ways that you can upcycle or repurpose your old furniture.
