The quality of the furniture that Bob builds is unmatched. Bob has built a dresser and hutch for each of our children as well as several other furniture pieces throughout our house. The beauty and workmanship that has gone into each piece that Bob has made is obvious. Our guests rave about it and always ask where we purchased it.
We have plenty of options in our area for custom built furniture but none of them contain the high level of quality and standards that Bob produces. The 4.5 hour drive to Century Wood Products is definitely worth the trip!
Not to mention that Bob is always a pleasure to talk to.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Over the past number of years, Bob has build three units for our home, 2 corner cabinets for our family room, and more recently, a desk shelf unit for my office. His workmanship is superb and his professionalism makes him so easy to collaborate with. He listens to what you want, but willingly adds advice when it is asked for. The units he has built for us have not only contributed to the beauty of our home, but have also given us functional pieces. Unlike many in similar trades, Bob has always finished the products within the timelines he gives. I can't imagine a more professional and talented cabinet maker. He would always be the first person I'd call for any similar products.
What can I say about Bob and his caliber of work on any project he is given except to say that he is a consummate professional and his work is stellar. I hired Bob to build two built-in shelving units for my living room. I had always wanted to have some because I think they both brighten and warm up a space. What I got was so much more. I am absolutely in love with my shelves and that is thanks to Bob's attention to detail, fine craftsmanship, and obvious love for his work. This man is truly talented and never delivers a subpar product. I would definitely work with Bob again and highly recommend his professional services.
We hired Bob to build us a custom wall unit 8 feet high by 16 feet long (4 foot wings). My husband is in construction so when he picks a contractor he wants the person to be meticulous and an expert in their field. Bob was both of these. Bob is a perfectionist, his work is high quality and he is honest and full of integrity. He met with my husband and I and just listened to what we wanted and before long we had a plan to scale for our review. He envisioned what we did. He priced it and gave us a delivery plan. Bob’s prices are reasonable and he met all of his delivery commitments to us. We love his work and have had many compliments about our built in wall unit. We would definitely hire him again!!!!
Over the years, I have heard a number of homeowners of my acquaintance remark that it is difficult to find craftspeople who truly strive to please their customers by delivering a quality product. I have to say that while that may, indeed, be the case with some business owners, it is certainly not the case with Bob. When I contacted him to design and custom build a wall to wall shelving unit for my family room, Bob revealed himself from the very beginning to be enthusiastic, professional, reliable, and honest. I trusted him to use his expertise to create a piece based on my personal specifications and preferences, and he far exceeded all of my expectations. My new wall unit is gorgeous! My friends and family have been nothing but complimentary regarding the precision of the design, quality of the construction, and flawlessness of the finish. The perfect fit of the installed piece in its designated spot in my house is almost unbelievable. It almost seems as if the unit was actually built as an original feature of the room, so seamless was the installation. I can honestly say I have never been happier with a home renovation final product. Bob is a man who clearly prides himself on doing his very best work to the most specific detail for his clients. For that, I will recommend his work to anyone needing his type of professional service.
We have a kitchen that is very small and needed almost all custom cabinetry work. Our biggest challenge was with a sink placed over a staircase, an area with an abundance of tiny corners and tight spaces. Amazingly, Bob came in, did some measuring, listened to our want list for specific spaces, and immediately had a grasp of exactly what he could do with our kitchen. Not only did he finish off the staircase area neatly and attractively, but we got highly functional cupboard space in that area as well. We also had an issue with an appliance not fitting quite right, and Bob was out the very next day to fix the problem, doing a beautiful job of it in a timely manner. It is now one of my favourite parts of the room! This is a very reliable business committed to perfection in the details, and we simply could not be happier with our kitchen. Bob, you’re the best. We are extremely happy with Bob's work handcrafting home office furniture (desk, hutch, cabinets) for our home. We provided Bob with an inspiration that we had found online. Bob assured us that the product that he would create would be better than the image we provided, and indeed it was that and more. Never having had custom furniture built, we were not sure what to expect. Bob made the experience easy. He thought of all of the little things that we wouldn't necessarily have, he took our wishes into great consideration, and provided guidance where needed. We couldn't be happier. Bob has done a great job, again!First we just had a corner unit made to measure.Then this year he made & installed new kitchen cupboards. All was hand made and the installation was precise . The price was the same or better than the box stores with personal service. The advantage of having them hand made to fit is because the box store units are premeasured but our walls, over time, are not always square, so certain corrections have to be made.Anyone can contact me for opinions and to have a see !
We recently gutted our kitchen and laundry room. I wanted to replace the cabinets with quality construction made of solid wood with a custom fit. Working with Bob to design and build cabinets for these rooms was a wonderful experience. Bob was able to recreate new cabinets to exactly what I wanted from photos and pencil sketches. His attention to detail and extra touches that he added have made my small kitchen look like a high-end custom design. He was extremely careful with measurements and the care of our home. I liked the fact that he gave me options and kept my budget in mind. Very pleased with final product and final price. We we certainly work with Bob again and would recommend him.
The showpiece of our newly renovated basement is the bar and wine cabinet that Bob built. After he built bookshelves and a desk for my office, we basically signed a blank cheque which illustrates the trust we have in Bob. We appreciated his insight and consultation during the process. When I set up my new office, 12 years ago, I purchaced an oak desk from the showroom floor of Century Wood Products – shortly thereafter I ordered a matching (custom built) credenza to fit into a tight space – I was impressed with the appearance and quality of both. Since that time Stephanie and I have had custom furniture made by Bob that now occupies 5 different rooms in our home – in each case we required furniture with unique dimensions and qualities that we simply could not find in traditional furniture stores. Bob took our ideas, made great suggestions and helped us create designs for what we were looking for. In each case the furniture has that “wow” characteristic that comes with well-made furniture crafted from high quality oak and maple hardwoods. Most recently, we decided to tackle a problem room; a smallish, combination home-office guest room - this room always seemed messy and unattractive. The answer was a murphy bed combined with corner-desk and cabinets which were built and installed by Bob. The result is a room that has been transformed into a show piece that we love and that family and friends admire. The quality of his work is absolutely first class---and each time we could not have been more happy with the result. The most recent piece which he made for us is just beautiful ---it's a very large unit, almost 18 feet long, with multiple doors, book shelves, glass doors ,and a gorgeous fireiplace mantle. In short it has a lot of WHOA. EVERYONE WHO COME TO OUR HOME ASKS WHO MADE IT! We have furniture items made by him that visitors keep wanting to buy from us, and as the abbreviated picture shows, "the family room built-in" that we proposed to him was designed by him, arrived, was assembled and fits to perfection. Bob built me a beautiful guitar cabinet for our basement. It turned out better than I dreamed it would and I've received tons of compliments.
