A few weeks ago our daughter was involved in a collision with another car. We are based outside of the city and couldn’t get to London right away. Dwayne arrived at the scene within minutes and took control of the situation. He knew exactly what to do and helped our daughter move her car into a parking lot away from further danger. This towing company is hands down the most professional firm in the city of London. I wouldn’t hesitate using them should we ever find ourselves in a similar situation again. Thanks so much for putting care and safety first Dwayne and team.

An 80 plus friend of mine was stranded on a street corner with a dead electric scooter. After phoning numerous towing companies this place was recommended by another company. Clarke's wanted $175. plus HST CASH. Who carries that kind of cash on them on a Sunday afternoon? Wouldn't take credit card or debit. Avoid these people at all costs.

I remember this call no one had money on them or the credit card and no phone to call back on. We have to verify the person using the credit card is the person that owns it and you could not do that so you would have to make alternate payment arrangements and or use an ATM to take the money out cause they are all over the place also.

I could not be more grateful and thankful for the help from Dwayne and Beverley the other day. They went above and beyond serving my family! Excellent customer service was their top priority and was clearly shown. I will recommend Dwayne to anyone and everyone going forward!

Thanks again!

P.s. The tow truck driver was a sweetheart as well!

If integrity and a fair price is important to you, think twice. Quoted us $5,500 with emphasis on need to instal a third axle and six new tires to make the tow. Didn’t end up putting on a third axle or new tires. Still charged $5,500 with no explanation for why. Then went awol. Shame on me for paying. Shame on Clarke for taking advantage. Never again.

I can’t thank you enough!! I dealt with two of your drivers today and they were fantastic. The first to boost my car and the second was to tow because the battery just didn’t have anything left in it after letting it run for an hour and wouldn’t start 10 minutes later. And I just purchased and picked the car up from my dealership 4 days ago. Both drivers were so unbelievably friendly and helpful and I’d recommend your company in a heartbeat. Thank you so so much!!

Highly recommend.

We had a 5th wheel trailer moved from Fanshawe Conservation to Chippewas of The Thames First Nation.

The driver Dwayne went above and beyond to ensure for a smooth move.

Very professional, experienced and reasonable rates.

Thanks!

The owner Clarke of Clarke's Towing turned left in front of me causing me to have to slam on my brakes and slide the car to avoid him..then going into on coming traffic on to the other side of the road. It was pouring rain. I followed him to a lot to let him know what he had done...he proceeded to tell me I was speeding! When I called the office she asked who was the driver and would I like to speak with the owner. She informed me he was the owner. I was told by Clarke when I tried to tell him what he had just done he just rudely told get out of my way and again that I was speeding. No I was not...I believe he was checking where he was turning and not the oncoming traffic. Really Clarke you were in the wrong and maybe should have just apoligized and not acted like an ass. Could have turned out real bad. What if I was on my motorcycle....you ride think about it...usually a left turn gone wrong.

First and foremost we appreciate the public advising us if our tow operators are not on their best driving behaviour. As for this incident and driver it is not all as you are portraying it. He did indeed check for oncoming traffic, to which there was none, and proceeded to turn. You came upon him after he had already started the turn, so he did not deliberately turn in front of you to cut you off. The office did ask you if you knew which truck/driver was involved in the incident which you proceeded to walk to the driver and advised you had the office on the line. You state the driver told you to get out of his way, the office heard the driver ask you to step away from the truck please. You state he accused you of speeding and you insisted to him and the office you were not. Speeding doesn't necessarily mean driving over the posted limit. If you're not driving to the weather/road conditions you can be considered speeding and driving unsafely. And we, for the most part, might surmise that if someone has to slam on their brakes in such a way that they slide and fishtail sideways into the lane of oncoming traffic to avoid an incident that perhaps someone wasn't paying attention to the roadway, was not driving to the weather/road conditions or a combination of both. And whether our driver rides a motorcycle or not has no bearing on this incident. We do not feel our driver was in the wrong.

I am a member of the Canadian Tire Auto Club. I was downtown off Talbot in a parking lot and my car wouldn't start. I called the Club and Brian from Strurdy's and Clarke's was dispatched. He boosted our car and volunteered to stay until we were on our way, I drove about 80 feet and the car died again. Brian towed us and our car home. He was very professional, very understanding and did all he could to minimize the discomfort and aggravation of the situation. I have been meaning to write this note for a few weeks. I am a very fussy consumer and unfortunately in today's world excellent customer service is rare. Brian did a great job and I wanted him and whoever provides his performance appraisals to know. I have also sent a similar note to the Canadian Tire Auto Club commending them on their choice of partner service providers.

Driver was very rude and did not want to be there to do the job. He left without finishing the job and left us stranded"had been there too long". He also charged us 80 on top of our roadside assistance. DO NOT USE.

We are aware of the situation you are talking about and when we received the call we where informed that you where just off solid ground and not in the back yard around trees and a partial wooden fence. Also you where aware that you’re coverage was only 50 feet and you where more then that and that the Winnebago was road worthy and it was not. The Winnebago was sitting all winter long at a house and our driver never left you stranded in the middle of no where.

In response to your response. God Sam was fully aware of the situation. I never said the driver left us stranded in the middle of no where. Yes, we were told about the extra cost but not finishing the job and being very rude from the start is not a very good representation of your company in my opinion. My issue is the fact he left without finishing the job he was sent to do. It seemed we were inconveniencing him. If your driver was not told all the facts, that is nothing to do with us.

Good Sam was aware of it only cause our driver told them, if he had pulled you out onto the road I which your Winnebago was not road worthy and did not run so you would have had it blocking the road which would have been a traffic hazard and unsafe to do so. Our driver spent more time there then what you where covered for and the extra you had paid. Good Sam is aware of everything that was done to get you out to the roadway which include cutting down tree limbs, removing a wooden fence and garbage bags out of the way of a recovery job not a simple winch out.

i am a professional driver and have dealt with many tow truck drivers in the past and more than likely in the future. i as a driver would never leave a job unfinished. this doesn't look good for your company and personally would never use it again. the equipment brought for the job was insufficient to accomplish the task and the driver knew it. post this or don't i don't care. and as for saying the rv was in the back yard, it was at the side of the house approximately 70 feet from the shoulder of the road. and your driver getting out of the truck and being rude to not only myself but my son in-law shows a lack of professionalism. leaving a vehicle approximately 15 feet from an area that would of finished the problem makes me wonder how many stranded people have been left before? my vehicle needed 20 mins to recharge the battery , tohave enough charge to finish the pull. hopefully you never leave anyone in a bad situation, but my family will never use your service again.i also work for a major rental company that i will be informing them of the great service i had with you.

My car literally broke down at the perfect time today. While on my phone searching for a towing company to call, Kid from Clarke’s and Sturdy’s stopped for me while driving by! Absolutely amazing service, very quick and efficient. I will definitely recommend this company to my friends and family! Thanks again.

I searched #Google for reputable tow service and this name #Sturdys came up second,i called first place which ended up being a garage and they told me "We dont tow, but best one to call is Sturdys" so I called them, and I'm most impressed. the intake/ business manager I called was caring of my location & safety (snowing & wind chill was bad) after I assured him I was safe at home he promptly sent his tow truck out to rescue my car! My tow truck driver was Keith Cook, and he was super efficient, friendly, and demonstrated his 100% professional abilities loading my car quicker than my ordering & getting a #TimHortons coffee takes!Keith kept a smile on his face the whole time, which made me smile even though I had the unfortunate car issues going on. i recommend them to drivers who value their vehicle, and care about getting excellent customer service. I was also offered a ride to the repair shop, which was very courteous, and thoughtful since it was freezing out, and a cab would have been over half of what the tow costs. Call them - you won't be disappointed, nor left out in the cold??! thanks again! Jenny

Last night my car died and while searching possible tow companies I came across Sturdy's. This was by far the best phone call I have ever had to make. After a brief wait Ted Perry had arrived to help out, what came next is something i'll never forget. This man handled everything with the utmost professionalism, fantastic attitude and a warm, caring disposition. He could have easily towed my car, asked for payment and left. This man went above an beyond to ensure that I was OK, got my car to exactly where I had asked and then drove me back to my apartment after he had accepted payment for the tow and I had thought his job done. Sturdy's is beyond amazing and bless you for having Ted Perry on staff. He's a beautiful soul and the hardest working and most caring man I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Thank you Sturdy's for having someone as amazing as Ted on your staff.

I didn't even realize how bad my car was until I called you. Ted came and met me. My car was so much worse than I thought. He showed me what was wrong and explained it in plain English for me to understand. He went and swapped trucks to get the right one and made me feel comfortable and secure the entire time. Got me and my car where I needed to be promptly I cannot be more impressed. Ted gets 10 stars because 5 just dosnt show how many he truly deserves. Thankyou Ted and sturdy. I am so grateful.

I wish you had six stars so we could adequately indicate how impressed and delighted we were with your driver, TED PERRY ... last Thursday (July 28) at around six in the evening our 2007 Buick Rainier stalled out in heavy westbound traffic on the 401 about a half click from Exit 999 (Dorchester) ... we phoned several companies but only one man answered and his first words were "How can I help you?" ... we were stuck a narrow shoulder with eighteen-wheelers racing by a foot off the driver's door ... it was hot and scary and my wife and I were in a bad spot ... until Ted Perry answered the call ... he found out exactly where we were, let us know how long it would take him to reach us, asked questions about the vehicle and its condition, and explained the costs involved ... he arrived on time, with several bottles of COLD WATER! and a great attitude ... he handled the call with grace and style and was a perfect gentleman throughout the entire process. He drove us to Disbrowe GM In Saint Thomas, waited until our ride from Port Stanley showed up, saw to the Key Drop issue, and he even had a small stool for my wife to sit on while we waited for our friend from Port Stanley to show up. We have never encountered someone quite like Ted Perry ... he seems to see his work as "a calling" and he is truly the Guardian Angel of The Highways ... please let him know personally how much we valued his help and his spirit. Got to keep this one, gentlemen - here's to TED PERRY ... it's a credit to STURDYS that you have people like him on the staff!
